While paint is often associated primarily with color, it also provides the surface with high resistance to scratches, impacts, temperature changes, and vapors, which is why quality paints can make all the difference.

There are transparent paints such as that for wood to bring out its grain, washable paints that can be wiped off only with a damp cloth, paints for metal, water-based or powder paints, and special paints for a metallic effect, with matte, glossy, neutral-colored or bright finishes.
